During their events they have a group of sight impaired working age adults who are all keen to get out and about and have fun with friends but transportation is always an issue. Along with the inability to drive it is of course difficult to familiarise yourself with a new location when vision is impaired. As a volunteer for either one of their groups you would really make a huge difference in the lives of visually impaired people from all over Gloucestershire simply by helping them to get out and about and enjoy time away from what could be a very lonely home life. The young persons group is called Outlook and has been running for 7years. The group generally meets once or twice a month and in the past they have been on meals out, played football, cricket, rock climbing and even skiing. There are roughly 40 members and they are keen to grow this number to include as many people as possible.
The Goalball team is quite new and is still in its infancy. They are in need of sighted people who enjoy sport to help out with training sessions and on tournament days. This could include guiding their members and potentially getting involved with coaching.
Lastly, the Gloucestershire Growlers are their counties blind cricket team. A competitive team now for 4 years and growing all the time. They are on the lookout for people to come along and help with all aspects of cricket.
