Family Support  with PACT (Prison Advice and Care Trust) (VG) (Ref: 1100)
 
Opportunity picture
The role involves working with many women, maintaining family ties, facilitating quality visits between children and their mothers, partnership with the Mother and Baby unit, and bridging the gap between social services and mothers. Some are from challenging home situations, some are affected by substance misuse and addictions.
What are they looking for?

Volunteers will need people skills, good communication and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds. Professionalism, as well as a sense of empathy and understanding differences.

Practical

All volunteers must complete the standard Pact application form and provide two references, one of which can be personal, but not a family member.

All potential volunteers will be interviewed before starting work.

Pact carries out enhanced CRB checks. Further checks against the Independent Safeguarding Authority may be required and/or further prison clearance possibly including counter terrorist clearance. CRB checks are renewed annually for roles working directly with children and vulnerable adults.

Induction and training provided. Trial period.

Volunteer expenses covered.

When: Mornings/Afternoons, Mon-Fri
