The Extra Care Charitable Trust is the pioneer of Village communities which enable people to enjoy active and independent lifestyles in their later years.

They are now looking for an Art & Craft Assistant to assist the residents with their Art projects within the scheme.

This is an important role, as you will be ensuring that proper procedures are followed and will be encouraging the residents to participate in the classes on offer.

Daily tasks will include, helping the tutors to promote a varied range of classes, to keep the room clean and tidy, enhance residents self confidence and support Residents with their projects.

As an Extra Care volunteer you will be well supported and highly valued.

Some of the people we support are not as mobile as they once were, but this doesn't diminish their ability to enjoy life - a little help from you can go a long way.

DBS checks are carried out, however having a criminal record will not necessarily bar you from volunteering.

Volunteers from all age groups are welcomed, however the minimum age for this role is 18.

St Oswald's retirement village with 161 properties is located behind B&Q on St Oswald's retail park in Gloucester. Parking is available on site, or you may wish to park at the park and ride car park where a ticket can be obtained free of charge from the machine, allowing you to park for up to 3 hours. There are also several bus stops nearby, and we are a 10 minute walk from Gloucester Cathedral.

When: Monday morning, Monday afternoon, Wednesday afternoon, Thursday afternoon, Friday morning
