You'll be escorting groups around the scenarios, encouraging visitors to identify dangers and actions to reduce or avoid the risk. There's a full size House, Bus, Car, Street, Police Custody Suite, Riverbank, Train, Electricity Sub-Station, Building site and much more...including the infamous Dark Alley!

You will take groups of children, young people or vulnerable adults around the SkillZONE to ensure they are able to keep themselves safe in the real life versions of these scenarios in the future. .
What are they looking for?

Session Guides need to be able and willing to speak in English to groups of children, young people and vulnerable adults, or could do with training.
Good timekeeping skills are needed as they start and finish at set times.
You need to be skilled at remembering and delivering information to groups or be happy to receive training on this.

You will receive full training for all of the roles and be supported by a Volunteer Manager and Volunteer Co-ordinator. They also provide re-imbursement for public transport or HMRC rate for car, motorbike or cycle mileage. You will also get the Exclusive SkillZONE Uniform (Consisting Polo-Shirt and Sweater). They are also registered with FairShares Timebanking. They also have a volunteer lounge and kitchen for your use.

Part of the Fire and Rescue Service, SkillZONE is a state-of-the-art life size village. It is a fully interactive learning environment to teach people of all ages how to recognise dangerous situations and stay safe.

There are 16 zones, which cover a range of scenarios including road, rail and water safety, an internet cafe, as well as opportunities to cover home and personal safety.
