If so, 1st Elmore guides needs you! They are looking for assistant group helpers to work alongside other volunteers to help run meetings, events and activities for girls aged 10 to 14. By sharing your skills, you’ll support girls and young women to try new things, make a difference in the world, speak out about the issues that matter to them and have fun!

1st Elmore Guides is part of Girlguiding, the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK. Guiding happens thanks to the organisation's amazing volunteers – people like you who give their time to ensure that they are active all over the UK.

You’ll volunteer alongside a friendly and committed team to:
• support volunteers and girls to plan activities
• help to run meetings with girls aged 10 to 14 on a flexible basis
• support a range of activities, games and events.
What are they looking for?

The most important qualities volunteers need are energy, enthusiasm and a willingness to try new activities! This role would suit someone who would like to gain experience of volunteering with young people and help to plan and deliver a range of activities and events.

Useful skills and experience for the role would be:
• an ability to work well with people of all ages
• good verbal communication skills.

No formal qualifications or prior guiding experience is required.
Volunteer are welcomed from all backgrounds and abilities, however all leaders and assistant leaders must be female and over 18.


Volunteer expenses will be reimbursed. An induction will be provided and you would have access to free specialised training and resources. Girlguiding's members' scheme which offers discounts on high street brands would also be available to you.

The role is flexible and can be arranged to fit around you, whether you can give a few hours a week or help occasionally on an ad-hoc basis.
