Opportunity picture
Would you like to help vulnerable adults when important decisions are being taken about their children?

Family Advocates support vulnerable adults through Child Protection proceedings to help them to understand the decisions, and the importance of their engaging in the activities demanded of them by the court/other agencies, to get more positive and fairer outcomes for both the adult and children involved.

You will be helping those with Learning disabilities, Physical & Sensory disabilities, Mental Health issues and Older people to get their views respected and their rights protected

You'll be identifying the issues and informing the client about their rights and choices & do research to ensure all information is available to them. You'll need to present the information in a form or format that they will understand.

Sometimes you'll be assisting in communicating needs and wishes to public services/bodies where appropriate so that clients are included in and contribute to the decisions affecting their lives.
