Paws in the Park (Paws) has been run by Cheltenham Borough Council ranger team for the last 10 years. The event is run to provide a family fun dog show to spread an important message of responsible dog ownership.
The event has grown over the last few years and attracts 3000 people across the day. The number of stands are now around 60 selling or advertising a whole range of pet related goodies or services including vets, charities, homemade dog biscuits to name but a few.
This year Paws is being held on Sunday 6th August between 11am and 5pm at Pittville Park in front of the pump rooms.
What’s at Paws
• 10 novelty dog classes
• Cheltenham Animal Shelter have-a-go agility and scurry
• Bouncy castle
• Face painting
The lists of jobs below are available on the day. If you would like to do just a couple of hours or a whole day there are opportunities for both.
Set up help (8am - 9:30am) x 2 volunteers
• To help to set up the main infrastructure of the event and will involve lifting and manual work as part of a team to erect tents etc.
Set up assistant for stand holders (9am – 11am) x 3 volunteers
• These positions will be responsible for escorting individual stand holders to their allocated pitches.
• Each stand holder will be provide with their stand number and a map ( which is included in the pack)
