Cotswold Riding for the Disabled believe 'life is about what you CAN do'.
All their riders have a disability, and whether physical, mental or a leaning difficulty, they are there to help them achieve the very best they can whatever the disability or the age (the youngest rider is 4 years and the oldest 74 years old!).
They are looking for people to help in after-school hours with grooming, tacking up, side walking and leading the ponies. It is useful if you have had some experience with horses, but if not they offer training.
In addition to term time activities, they have recently started after-school clubs and riding in the school holidays, so are now looking for a greater number of people to help with an activity which also benefits other aspects of the rider's life such as communication, building relationships and engaging in education.
[There are also opportunities to help with fundraising, maintenance, tack cleaning and administration]
What are they looking for?
You will need to be patient, compassionate and physically fit enough to be able to run with a pony trotting around the school.
Travel by car or bus D from town centre then walk through car parks, past the steam railway station; it is about 1/2 mile from bus stop.
When: Monday afternoon, Monday evening, Tuesday afternoon, Tuesday evening, Wednesday afternoon, Wednesday evening, Thursday afternoon, Thursday evening, Friday afternoon, Friday evening, Saturday morning
