The cashier is the main interface between the credit union and its members and potential members. The cashiers always work in pairs so a new starter will have an experienced cashier alongside. They will work at a customer service point in Dursley. The session will be 1 and a half hours to 2 hours once a week. The work entails providing a simple banking service so they will:
i) collect member's savings or loan repayments
ii) provide loan application forms and assist with filling in if necessary
iii) issue and check share (savings) withdrawal forms
iv) pay out loans and share withdrawals
v) issue and receive membership application forms
vi) record all transactions
vii) deposit all cash and cheques received at the local post office.
What are they looking for?
The applicant needs to be numerate, have good interpersonal skills and be completely reliable and trustworthy.
Working hours are Tuesday mornings, Wednesday afternoons and Friday afternoons. Volunteer expenses will be reimbursed.
