About Read Easy Cheltenham
Read Easy is a national organisation that works through locally-run volunteer groups to provide one-to-one reading tuition to adults who struggle with reading. By helping people to tackle their reading difficulties, it is hoped that they will also grow in confidence and self-esteem, become more independent, move on to other forms of education and improve their employment opportunities.
The scheme also provides very rewarding volunteering opportunities for people who want to make a difference in their communities. Each Read Easy group is affiliated to Read Easy UK, a registered charity, which provides all the structure and support to make the setting up and running of a group as straightforward and successful as possible.
