Do you like meeting and helping people ?

In their stores, British Heart Foundation are always looking for outgoing and enthusiastic volunteers to meet and greet customers at their Furniture and Electrical stores. Customer Service Volunteers talk to BHF's customers, make them feel welcome, help them find the things they’re looking for and inform them of the BHF’s life-saving heart research. Volunteers keep the sales floor looking fresh and inspiring and thank everyone who brings in their donations and custom.

Come and be a part of your local team and learn about customer service skills and gain experience. Don’t worry if you’re not a confident speaker, with this role all you need is a welcoming and helpful attitude.

British Heart Foundation will provide you with all the support and help you need. This role will be useful for enhancing your CV and skills set and BHF also offers its volunteers the opportunity to gain NVQ qualifications.
What are they looking for?

You will need to be friendly, polite and keen to learn.


Volunteer recruitment is by application form and informal discussion.

References are required. Unspent criminal convictions for theft, fraud, violence, sexual offences or drugs would exclude would-be applicants.

Volunteers with additional support needs: BHF have the capacity and facilities to recruit volunteers with additional support needs, as agreed on an individual basis. Risk Assessments will be put in place. Volunteers may be joined by a carer to help support them in their roles.

Volunteer expenses are covered, as are induction for volunteers and insurance cover.

BHF also provides its volunteers with the following:
- ongoing development training
- a Certificate of Achievement
- the opportunity to gain a level 2 NVQ qualification in Team Leading, Retail or Customer Service as well as
to complete 10-12 week knowledge courses in the same areas, as well as Warehousing, through their partner Derby College.
- 25% discount across all of their shops on donated goods
