Photography volunteer at Westonbirt  with Westonbirt, The National Arboretum (VG) (Ref: 1622)
Opportunity picture
A key part of Westonbirt's marketing is to inspire their visitors by using visually appealing photographs to support their social media campaigns. The Marketing Support officer is keen to identify and fill gaps in the current database and is looking for volunteers to help!

As well as taking photographs of specific areas or themes, you would be required to go into the arboretum and find great seasonal shots to use on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
What are they looking for?

Are you enthusiastic about trees and a keen photographer with experience of people, families and landscapes? If you love being outdoors and would like to help promote the National Arboretum for future generations, this could be the role for you.

You would need a good level of fitness to cover the arboretum's wonderful collection of around 15000 trees and shrubs. As this is outdoor work and terrain may be uneven, rough or muddy, suitable footwear would be required. It would also be helpful if you had access to your own camera and lens although if needed, it could be provided. Whilst an interest in the arboretum and trees would be helpful, no specialist knowledge is expected.

Knowledge of social media channels such as Instagram is desirable though training can be provided if needed.

The preference is for the role to be once a week, between 10am and 3pm, the day being flexible between Monday and Friday.
Frequency of visits may be open for review and vary at different times of the year as the project is rather weather dependent. Materials and equipment will be provided together with training to cover all aspects of the role together with on-going help and support.
You will be invited to regular meetings and a contribution will be paid to the cost of travel.

As part of the application process, you may be required to bring in a portfolio of your work.

When: Mornings/Afternoons, Mon-Fri
Age requirements: All ages
