They are looking for volunteers to support their Community Giving program. It is a great chance to develop excellent communication skills, creative thinking and an opportunity to support a fantastic charity.
Community Fundraising is a new element of Homes for Veterans so they are keen to develop a fantastic team of volunteers who are enthusiastic, committed and willing to take a chance! Whilst the starting point will be street collections, there are many opportunities for you to develop the role as much or as little as you wish.
They are incredibly flexible and happy to work around your commitments whether you can offer them an hour of your time, or even if you want to become a Community Champion and develop your own Community Giving events.
What are they looking for?
Enthusiasm is the most important factor. You will be provided with a clear induction to the work of the charity and the opportunity to develop new skills. If you are keen to make a difference within your community, especially if you have creative ideas and a positive outlook they would love to hear from you.
This opportunity takes place in multiple locations, but primarily in central Gloucester. Working times are flexible and can be arranged. Individuals from all age groups are welcomed, but young people aged 14 and over will require parental consent. Wheelchair accessibility depends on the location, and cannot be guaranteed. Volunteer expenses will not be reimbursed.
When: Variable times
Age requirements: All ages
About Homes For Veterans (VG)
Homes for Veterans is an initiative of Alabare Christian Care. We provide homes for veterans across the South West and Wales who are no longer in the forces and find themselves with nowhere to go. As Community Fundraiser for Gloucestershire all funds we raise here go directly to our home in Gloucester itself, which supports up to eight veterans, for up to a year to enable them to gain vital skills and guidance.
