Dementia affects over 700,000 people in the UK alone. Alzheimer's Society provides information and support for those with any form of dementia and their carers.

In order to expand the work of the Society so even more people with dementia and their carers can be helped and supported, they need to raise funds. By joining the group and assisting with its fundraising activities you will be making a valuable contribution towards achieving this aim.

As a Fundraising Helper you will help contribute idea's to a fundraising plan, help with agreed fundraising events, think of new ways to generate income, handle cash donations, and if willing help organise specific events.

So if you would like to help the Alzheimer's Society in a hands on way, then they would really like to hear from you!

Volunteers from all age groups are welcomed, however the minimum age for this role is 18.
What are they looking for?

No special qualifications or experience needed. The role may be ideal for you if:

o You are enthusiastic about charity fundraising within the local community.

o You are happy to volunteer as part of a team of people from a variety of backgrounds.

o You are prepared to follow cash handling procedures in accordance with society rules and expectations.

o You understand that occasionally you may need to move and lift heavier items (e.g. full collection tins) and are willing to ask for help/decline if this is a problem.
