Massage Volunteer  with Brockworth House Care Centre (Ref: 524)

Opportunity picture
The Brockworth House Care Centre are looking to recruit a volunteer to give their residents with Dementia a simple Massage.

For some, volunteering is a fun and satisfying way to fill in spare time and meet like minded people. For others it is a way of contributing to the welfare of older people in their local community. Many find themselves acquiring interests and skills that might never otherwise have surfaced and friendships formed can be enduring.

Older people have a wider range of interests and activities. There is also a greater challenge to meet the needs of our more frail residents and tenants, in order for them to have an active and fulfilled life. This requires more volunteers working in a one to one setting as well as with groups.

Many of the residents at Brockworth House Care Centre can get very anxious and can find it difficult to relax. By simply holding or rubbing a residents hand, or gently rubbing their shoulders, can have vast benefits.

Brockworth House are looking for someone who would be willing to do the massage, and who enjoys working with the elderly.

Volunteers from all age groups are welcomed, however the minimum age for this role is 18. DBS checks are carried out, however a criminal record will not necessarily bar you from volunteering. Disabled Access.
