Refurbishment Assistant  with Furniture Recycling Project (Ref: 642)

The Furniture Recycling Project is a not-for-profit organisation which collects and donated items from members of the public free of charge, test and refurbishes them in their workshops and sells them at a low cost through their shops in Gloucester and Cheltenham.

They are now looking for someone with practical skills and an interest in furniture to join their furniture refurbishment team. You will be assisting with the preparation, repair and perhaps even the restyling of donated items of furniture to get them ready to sell.

The work could involve woodwork or upholstery repairs, painting or varnishing depending on your skills.

They are looking for people to help for one or two days a week.

DBS checks are carried out, however having a criminal record will not necessarily bar you from volunteering.

Volunteers from all age groups are welcomed, however the minimum age for this role is 18.
What are they looking for?

Responsible and reliable

You will need to be able to communicate and work as part of a team, but also be able to work alone.

Basic literacy and numeracy skills

Experience of carpentry, joinery, painting or upholstery would be an advantage but not essential.

Must be physically fit as the work involved can involve lifting and moving furniture
