School re-engagement workers are needed to support young people attending The Rock's daytime programmes. At The Rock they offer an alternative activity-based curriculum for 9-16 year olds who are struggling to engage with education.
This is a rewarding role with the volunteer having the chance to have an impact and make a difference in a young person's life. The role involves supporting students during the sessions, which can be based on site or may involve going to other locations. There is also the opportunity to run sessions that match your own skills and interests.
This is a flexible post that can be anything from half a day to 2 days a week so volunteers can be flexible to fit in with their existing commitments.
There are training opportunities and full support is provided. If you are interested in getting into youth work or want to develop skills in this area, this could be the volunteering opportunity for you.
What are they looking for?
They are looking for volunteers with good communication and listening skills, effective team working skills and a willing attitude.
Disabled and wheelchair access depending on venue.
When: Mornings/Afternoons, Mon-Fri

About The Rock
The Rock is safe space for young people to develop their emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing. They live out practical Christian love for all young people, regardless of faith or background, through challenging activities from urban street sports to essential life skills.
During school hours, they work with young people who are disengaged, or are at risk of becoming disengaged, from mainstream education. In the evenings their doors are open to all young people who want somewhere safe to hang out, to play sports, or to learn new skills.
