Do you have a spare room you could offer to a young person who has nowhere to stay?
Gloucestershire Nightstop provides emergency accommodation through their team of volunteers for young people, aged 16-25 who have nowhere to stay. The volunteers offer a room for the night, meal and breakfast the next morning. This provides young people, who are vulnerable with overnight accommodation in a safe and friendly environment. Volunteering is extremely flexible and can be from one night a month to having a young person stay for several weeks.
As a host volunteer you will be supported by the staff team at Nightstop. Each young person is risk assessed before being placed with a volunteer. Nightstop accommodation prevents young people from having nowhere to stay.
Volunteers from all age groups are welcomed, however the minimum age for this role is 21. DBS checks are carried out, however having a criminal record will not necessarily bar you from volunteering.
What are they looking for?
To have an interest in young people who are homeless - ability to listen and be welcoming.
The volunteers offer a room for the night, meal and breakfast the next morning
When: Variable times
