Youth and Schools Support Workers are needed to support young people attending The Rock's daytime programs. At The Rock they offer an alternative activity-based curriculum for 11-16 year olds who have been excluded or who are at risk of exclusion from mainstream schools.
This is a rewarding role with the volunteer having the chance to have an impact and make a difference in a young persons' life. The role involves supporting students during the sessions. These can be based on site or may involve going off-site to other locations. There is also the opportunity to run sessions that match your own skills and interests.
This is a flexible post that can be anything from half a day to 5 days a week so volunteers can be flexible to fit in with their existing commitments. There are training opportunities and full support is provided. If you are interested in getting into youth work or want to develop skills in this area, this could be the volunteering opportunity for you.
Volunteers from all age groups are welcomed, however the minimum age for this role is 18. DBS checks are carried out, however having a criminal record will not necessarily bar you from volunteering. Disabled and wheelchair access depending on venue.
