They run a busy and varied programme of events from April to September, including concerts, art exhibitions and workshops, debates, storytelling and poetry events. They need volunteers willing to help with publicity and promotion, organising events, setting up and stewarding on the day and gathering visitor feedback. This is a great opportunity to get some hands-on experience of event management, or make it part of your Arts Award. There will be the opportunity for creative input too - they value your ideas and initiative and will look to utilise your particular strengths.
What are they looking for?
A friendly personality and willingness to work in a team. Good communication skills. Flexibility in terms of hours. An interest in culture is a bonus but not necessary. Full support and training will be given.
Working times are Saturday mornings, afternoon Monday to Saturday and evening on Friday and Saturday.
When: Variable times
Age requirements: 16 upwards

About Discover DeCrypt
The Discover DeCrypt project is working with the local community to regenerate St Mary de Crypt Church and the Old Crypt Schoolroom for all to enjoy, especially children, young people and families. This will enable access to the rich architectural and social heritage of the building, opening it up in innovative and creative ways to enhance and transform the lives of people who visit, volunteer and are employed. They will provide opportunities for learning through tours, talks and events, school visits, training, courses, and use of the space for meetings. Young people and volunteers are involved in the development work and will continue to be involved in project development and delivery. This is all happening alongside the continued use of the church as a place of worship and prayer.
