Ideology Impacts Which Causes Volunteers Support?
Here's an interesting report from the US that looks at links between donors' ideology and the causes they give money to
|Summary: Donors with a conservative ideology are more traditional in their giving while donors with a liberal ideology are more diverse in the types of causes they support. Giving to children and youth, however, is a cause that unites all donors regardless of ideology.
Would this apply to their choice of volunteering role? What we do know is that the most popular search route on our website is Search by Causes, Interests and Activities so it could be true. It would be good to see some more research as it might help recruiters.
Thanks to our colleagues at Boston Volunteers for flagging this up.
